Full-stack product development held to aerospace tolerances. Design, engineering, mobile, TV, infrastructure — we own every layer of the stack.
A selection of software projects we've designed, engineered, and shipped for clients across the United States.
High-Traffic E-Commerce — Migration & Rebuild
A wholesale closeout business serving retailers nationwide. We executed an expedited migration of 15,000+ products and 25,000+ images from a legacy proprietary platform, then rebuilt the entire system as a responsive web application handling 1-2 million hits daily.
Our Role
Total rebuild — migration, engineering, infrastructure, design, and operations.

Christian Movie Superapp — Ground-Up Rebuild
A complete rebuild of a faith-based media and investment ecosystem. GoodWorks Hub combines a VOD streaming platform, FINRA-compliant investment portal (Regulation Crowdfunding), and a Pay It Forward donation system — all under one roof.
Our Role
Full technical leadership — architecture, design, engineering, and deployment.

Gunsmith Operations Platform
A communication and operations platform connecting gunsmiths with their customers. Features live video streaming from workbenches, SMS notifications, multi-provider payment integrations, ATF bound book compliance, and a work board for job assignment.
Our Role
Full product build — design, engineering, compliance, and operations tooling.

Gamified Kids Education — Greenfield Build
A faith-based educational platform that turns learning into an adventure through gamified video quests. Covers STEM, arts, Bible stories, and character skills with avatars, rewards, and parent dashboards.
Our Role
Sole technical partner — every decision from concept to production.

Faith-Based Streaming — TV App
A free streaming service offering Christian movies, shows, comedy, kids content, music, and sermons. We designed and built the cross-platform TV application from scratch, integrating seamlessly with their existing legacy backend.
Our Role
Complete ownership of TV experience — design, engineering, project management.

Laboratory Information Management System — Under NDA
An internal tooling platform managing the lifecycle of samples, manifests, and result data across laboratories and offices in the United States, Europe, and East Asia. Built through deep collaboration with scientists to extract domain knowledge and define requirements.
Our Role
Full ownership — requirements, design, management, DevOps, infrastructure, and engineering.

"Our ecommerce provider was pulling the plug and we had no time. He migrated 15,000 products, kept our payment system intact, and rebuilt the whole platform before we went dark. That kind of urgency isn't something you can fake. Not to mention the communication and follow up is second to none."
We'll walk through your project, flag the risky parts, and give you a straight read on scope, budget, and timeline. No deck. No sales pitch. No commitment.
We bring the full weight of a product team to every software engagement — from web and mobile to TV apps and cloud infrastructure. No hand-offs, no gaps, no excuses.
We don't just build what you ask for — we help you figure out what to build. From ideation through requirements gathering, we partner with founders and teams to define products worth building.

How we approach custom software development — from discovery through deployment.
1 week · fixed price
We dig deep into your domain — FINRA compliance, lab workflows, regulated industries, whatever the field — and extract the knowledge needed to scope something real.
Scoping doc · risk register · fixed-price build estimate
2–4 weeks
Every interface is designed with intent. We prototype, test, and iterate until the experience feels right — across every screen size and platform.
Wireframes · UI/UX prototypes · technical architecture diagram
6–16 weeks · fixed price
We build with the same precision that machined fighter jet parts. Code lives in your repo from day one. Infrastructure runs on your accounts. Weekly demos, no surprises at handoff.
Working software in your repo · weekly demos · infra on your accounts
Ongoing retainer
Launch is just the beginning. We deploy, monitor, and iterate. Your product gets better every week, not just every quarter.
Launch handoff doc · documented architecture · monthly retainer
What founders and product teams actually want to know before they hire us. The same answers we'd give you on a scoping call.
01
We don't bite off more than we can chew. From day one of an engagement, all code lives in your repository and all infrastructure runs on your accounts. Architecture is documented as we build, not as an afterthought. We keep trusted collaborators on retainer who can step in for continuity if needed. The work is yours — never held hostage by us.
02
Yes. Full ownership of code, designs, IP, and data transfers to you from day one — not at the end of the engagement. We don't lock you into our infrastructure, our accounts, or our toolchain.
03
Default is two fixed-price blocks: a one-week Discovery, followed by a fixed-price Build Phase scoped from what Discovery reveals. We've also worked hourly with established clients when it makes sense. Ongoing support after launch runs on a monthly retainer. We're flexible — what we won't do is bill against an open-ended hourly meter for a brand-new project.
04
Change orders. Re-scoping is built into our process, but it will affect the original estimate — we're honest about that up front. When something shifts, we write down the new scope, the new estimate, and the trade-off, then you decide before we touch a thing.
05
A few calls of discovery to surface the domain, the risks, and the constraints. From there we put together the full technical requirements and deliver designs for the core of the product. By the end of week two you should have a concrete picture of what we're building, how, and on what timeline — well before any major engineering investment.
06
We're built to be your long-term partner. Default arrangement is a simple monthly retainer for ongoing support — maintenance, monitoring, small changes. We occasionally take equity when the project warrants it and the fit is right; that's a case-by-case conversation. New features or new products beyond the retainer scope get bid separately as their own engagements.
07
We're upfront about this. We aren't the right partner if your total project budget is under $25k, if you want to skip the Discovery week and jump straight to build, or if you expect daily check-ins, hourly time tracking, or close micromanagement. We work best with founders and teams who scope rigorously up front and trust us to execute.

Aerospace CNC Machining — Boeing Defense Contractor
For years, I machined precision parts for fighter jets and missile systems as an aerospace CNC programmer and setup specialist — working under the exacting standards of Boeing defense contractors. Tolerances measured in thousandths of an inch. Zero margin for error.
When COVID reshaped the world in 2020, I made a calculated pivot. The same discipline, precision, and systems-thinking that built aerospace components now builds software. Smith Software Development was born — and for five years, we've been delivering production-grade digital products for clients who need more than a contractor. They need a partner.
We serve founders and product teams building software that has to hold up under real load — and we bring the full weight of a product team to every engagement. Product design. UI/UX. Frontend. Backend. Mobile. TV. Infrastructure. DevOps. Database architecture. We don't hand off. We own it.
Whether you're starting from scratch or rebuilding from the ground up, we'd love to hear about your project.
